I found these guidelines on another blog and adjusted them to suit my needs. Check back with me next month... Until then... Don don - da dah! (That's for the trumpet sound to begin! :) )
Week 1
Christy’s Room
- Clear the floor. Be selective in what gets to stay.
- Gather all the clothes and sort and organize. Store extra clothes. Limit clothes and create neat drawers. Hang up what makes sense to hang up.
- Bed (under and over), blankets, linens, and stuffed animals. They can only keep the stuffed animals that fit in the stacking basket! So I got ambitious and did all this before March even began! Yeah for today! Monday maybe I can tackle the shelves and closet but her room is looking 200% better! :)
Christy's bed with the canopy Auntie gave her, and the toy stacker from Grandma. I couldn't get the flowers at the top in the picture because the room is too small to step back that far.
Here's their play kitchen. It used to be a desk top in its day.Christy's boots and umbrella beside her "new" dresser. It's amazing what a little paint can do to a dinged up, ugly brown painted piece of thrift store "trash." It was $10 plus a bit of left over white paint and two sample sized from Home Depot in pink and lavender. - Shelves and toy-bin. Take everything off and out, only put back on what needs to stay.
- The closet - yes, this is the scary one. I may be able to do the rest in a day but the two closets will probably take the rest of the week. There's these boxes that moved with us that I don't even know what's in them... so confession is good for the soul, right? :( :)
- closet in John’s room
March 3 - Update: I'm going to mess up the order of things here and take a break from Christy's room to do ours. I've started with step 4 of the Master bedroom, and am going to work backward. We need to move the crib in for Edward because he's outgrown the corner he had and is rolling and crawling. Time for the big crib, definitely.
Week 2
Master Bedroom
1: De-clutter all the shelves closets, and shoes. This is a big day and a HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT! Go for it and feel good when you do! Put on some music(and maybe get someone to hold your baby)
