Forward March- What I hope I can accomplish this March!

Let the drumroll begin - I’m headed for clutter free!
I found these guidelines on another blog and adjusted them to suit my needs. Check back with me next month... Until then... Don don - da dah! (That's for the trumpet sound to begin! :) )

Week 1
Christy’s Room

  1.  Clear the floor. Be selective in what gets to stay.
  2. Gather all the clothes and sort and organize. Store extra clothes. Limit clothes and create neat drawers. Hang up what makes sense to hang up.
  3. Bed (under and over), blankets, linens, and stuffed animals. They can only keep the stuffed animals that fit in the stacking basket!   So I got ambitious and did all this before March even began! Yeah for today! Monday maybe I can tackle the shelves and closet but her room is looking 200% better! :)
Christy's bed with the canopy Auntie gave her, and the toy stacker from Grandma.  I couldn't get the flowers at the top in the picture because the room is too small to step back that far.

Here's their play kitchen. It used to be a desk top in its day.

Christy's boots and umbrella beside her "new" dresser. It's amazing what a little paint can do to a dinged up, ugly brown painted piece of thrift store "trash." It was $10 plus a bit of left over white paint and two sample sized from Home Depot in pink and lavender.
  4. Shelves and toy-bin. Take everything off and out,  only put back on what needs to stay.
  5. The closet - yes, this is the scary one. I may be able to do the rest in a day but the two closets will probably take the rest of the week. There's these boxes that moved with us that I don't even know what's in them... so confession is good for the soul, right? :( :)
  6. closet in John’s room
John’s Room– Repeat these steps(Did most of this last week, so I’m not adding an extra week)

March 3 - Update: I'm going to mess up the order of things here and take a break from Christy's room to do ours. I've started with step 4 of the Master bedroom, and am going to work backward. We need to move the crib in for Edward because he's outgrown the corner he had and is rolling and crawling. Time for the big crib, definitely.

Week 2
Master Bedroom
1: De-clutter all the shelves closets, and shoes. This is a big day and  a HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT! Go for it and feel good when you do! Put on some music(and maybe get someone to hold your baby)
2 - Bathroom: Gut it! Only put back the essentials!
3– De-clutter all the drawers.
4 – Bedroom: De-clutter the floor, and under the bed.
5 – Bedroom ...Wrap everything up. Donate your donate items and Relocate your relocates

Week 3
Kitchen
  1. De-Clutter pantry.
  2. Open every cabinet and remove all your items. Only put back what should stay.
  3. Open every drawer and remove all items - put back only necessities - junk or donate for the rest
Laundry

    4.   On top of washer and dryer.
    5.    Cabinets
    6.    Bathroom cabinet

Week 4
Living-room
1– Computer Corner
2– all other corners
3 – behind the couch and underneath and under all cushions
4 – Any Remaining Furniture
5   The Floor – Wrap everything up. Donate your donate items

Saying Yes Because I Can

So I've retitled my blog. Why? Because I've got a new theme playing and replaying itself in my heart. Sometime in December the verse struck home to me - All God's promises are "yes" to me in Christ and it drew from my heart the resounding "amen" the verse speaks of. Then I got to pondering how my life is to be one small yes after another to God. We often "heroize" the folks that have made big "yes"es to God and given their lives as a sacrifice in his service, but did that happen overnight? God said "He that is faithful in little is faithful also in much." and for most people the big yes came after a long string of faithful little yeses. And in my heart I purposed to live a life of yeses to God's will.
From there I began pondering how God says yes to us because he is good. He wouldn't need to give us all things freely. But he does out of the abundant goodness of his heart. And I'm called to follow in his steps.
Suddenly the realization punched me in the gut - my children hear "no" from me a whole lot more frequently than "yes." To be sure, there really are times when I have to say "no" but sadly, sometimes the "no" comes out just because it's like a reflex and is the simplest thing to say to constant questions. Ouch! I hate to admit that weakness, but it's too true.
It made me think of this little quote from a kiddo ^ that must have heard it frequently like mine.
"No-no, don't touch." "No-no, don't do that" "No you can't right now."
I started pondering on this and now I know that I've got to begin to change this. Today I've been purposing to say "yes" simply because I can.  Not when it would be harmful, but really, how often is that?  The "yes"es that I joyfully gave today seemed like grease to the gears of this house. The children seemed to just stop their bickering and begging and played quietly for hours together. I said "yes" to my daughter that she could sleep on the floor and she went off to sleep so quickly that I was really shocked.
Okay, so I'm not promising that this will go on smoothly forever. But really, my heavenly Father gives a thousand yeses to me, and I'm not an angel either. I want to choose to say "yes" because I can.

New blog address

I'm really tired of my super long blog address, so I'm getting ready to switch over to the new and shorter one.  - 1000yeses.blogspot.com  I'll explain that address in a future post for any who don't understand it yet from my last post. But I'm giving you all a heads-up in advance so that you can start following the new one and not be missing my updates. That is, of course, for anybody who reads the stuff n' fluff (hopefully not mostly fluff) that I write here. Thanks! Lisa
